The support of Oregon residents through the Gray Whale License Plate Fund is making a difference within the marine research community. Since 2019, the Oregon DMV has sold over 18,000 license plates. HALO is among the multiple research projects that are being made possible by this fund. As for HALO specifically, we hope that the cetacean distribution knowledge gained will fill gaps in research and play a role in the conservation of cetaceans in Oregon waters. Click on the license plate for more details about the Gray Whale License Plate Fund and the projects it is currently supporting. Thank you, to the Oregon community, for your support.
The passive acoustic monitoring portion of the HALO project is funded by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
